Saturday Night

We got a late start on what turned out to be a busy day.  Last night was the eve of Shabbat and the last night of Chanukah.  Friends came over for a kiddush of lox, challah and juice before we left for The Sweet Tomatoes to eat some veggies.  We frequently get together at the Sweet Tomatoes, when we don't have dinner at the house and have gotten to know the staff well enough to know their names and a little about them.  They know us too.  We got home around 10:30 and stayed up for a little private time.  (Photos follow of some of the get togethers there.)

Today:
  •  we had to get the car's oil checked because we were concerned about a leak.  Mike has a friend at Firestone, who put some dye in the tank,
  • then lunch at Subway,
  • some shopping at Texas Art Supply to pick up material to repair the displays for the Archives Committee before the convention in January and to meet the budget deadline for the end of the year,
  • a trip by the city's big recycling plant and
  • a visit at our friends.
Just like that the day was over and evening was settling in.

I have been intending to set up this family blog for a while now and somehow the holidays seem like a good time to get it going.
